I need a break!

Yesterday at work I got a call from my mom's work, she fell and they were sending her to the hospital. I get to the hospital and she did a number on herself. We just had to wait for the xray results to see how bad.

She fractured her left knee cap in severl places, the only way to fix it is surgery. She fractured her right ankle, but in the scheme of things it isn't too bad. So now my mom is not able to walk at all.

She is the primary caregiver for my grandma. I am now the primary caregiver of both my mom and grandma! Thank god for my awesome husbamd. He's with my mom and grandma so I could go to work today. My boss is fantastic and letting me do some work from home tomorrow.

I tell you my family is quite comical right now. The grandma who cant do much for herself, the mom who cant do anything because she can't walk, and the daughter who is seven months pregnant and cant do a ton of what is needed. LOL

 I need to sit down with my family and tell them no more hospitals (after moms surgery of course) until this baby is ready to be born (and that cant be anytime before may)!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom's fall. I hope she heals quickly. When is her surgery?

You are awesome for taking care of her and your grandmom. I'm beyond exhusted these days and doubt I could do it.

Oh no!  I hope your mom heals quickly from her surgery.  That is wonderful that your boss is letting you do some work from home.  It is kind of comical to picture the scenario described.  Glad your hubby is so helpful with all of this.  I'm not sure if mine would want to stay home and take care of my mom.  LOL.  He would but I'm sure I'd hear about it.

After a crazy long day yesterday, we have a date for surgery! She will be going in on Monday. I have to say I am beyond impressed with her workers comp. I deal with works comp often and have never seen it move this fast. Of course, I think her work is treating her as a special case but that is okay by me! Her boss also did something amazing; he offered to let her and my gma stay at my moms community (assisted living) for free until mom is able to be up and moving around again. He said he knows that my mom is my grandmas primary caregiver and they want both of them to stay so that mom can focus on getting well and grandma can get the care she needs. This will also put mom about 10 minutes away from me instead of 45. So now all dh and I will really have to focus on is getting moms place packed up for the move.. All I can sat is thank god for small miracles and caring people!

I am sorry to hear about your mom's fall! BUT that is amazing news = ). It's so nice to hear that there are caring people out there!
